Tessa & Riley
Los Angeles • October 10, 2027
You are cordially invited...
...to attend the wedding of Tessa Duke and Riley Warmoth in Los Angeles on the tenth of October in the year two-thousand-and-twenty-seven. The ceremony and reception will be held at Mírate, a dining establishment in the neighborhood Los Feliz, just steps from the happy couple's home together. Guests will enjoy craft cocktails, wine, beer and modern Baja California coastal cuisine provided by the restuarant. The wedding venue has two staircases, so please plan to dress accordingly. There is also an accessible, street-level entrance located behind the restaurant. Though we love children, the wedding will be an event for those of eighteen years and older. A welcome party will be hosted the evening beforehand at a location still to be determined. Thank you for joining us to celebrate our love and the beginning of a new chapter.
travel
AIRPORTS:
LAX - Los Angeles's busiest, most affordable, and most accessible airport. After disembarking, walk or catch a shuttle to the LAX-IT lot for rideshares. From there, you can call your Uber or Lyft. Alternatively, Uber Black is an option for curbside pickup as soon as you step outside. If landing in terminal 1 or 7, we recommend the brief walk to the LAX-IT lot. Otherwise, it may be best to save from straining your legs by catching the shuttle to the LAX-IT rideshare lot.
Or, catch the FlyAway Bus. Passengers leaving LAX may board buses on the Lower/Arrivals Level in front of each terminal at the blue FlyAway® columns. Tickets need to be purchased in advance and the bus goes to both/either Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles or 7610 Woodley Avenue in Van Nuys.
Also, as of June 2025, LAX has its own Metro stop connecting the C and K lines. Travel from all LAX terminals to the LAX/Metro Transit Center via a free, frequent shuttle outside your terminal.
BURBANK - Though usually pricier, this airport is never too crowded and is located closest to all wedding-related activities. Catch an Uber or Lyft, always with curbside pickup, or use the Airport Train Station to catch the Metrolink to Union Station and transfer to the B Line to reach Los Feliz/Hollywood.
ADDITIONAL AIRPORTS:
*Traveling from the following airports would be a 70-90 min car ride to the Los Feliz/Hollywood area.
Long Beach (frequent shuttle available to Long Beach Metro stop for A line downtown LA)
John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, Orange County
Ontario International Airport in Ontario, Riverside County
RIDESHARE APPS:
WAYMO - Waymo is an autonomous taxi service. Though on the rise in LA, in San Francisco, rides in these vehicles are more popular than your usual rideshare apps. Calling one is as simple as calling an Uber or Lyft. Download the WAYMO app here. Pros: very safe, no small talk required, control over music. Cons: not yet legal on freeways so trips may take a little longer.
UBER - Rideshare app available for download HERE for iPhone and HERE from the Google Play store.
LYFT - Rideshare app available for download HERE for iPhone and HERE from the Google Play store.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:
Once a city with pretty limited public transit, Los Angeles kicked it into gear since the announcement of the 2028 Olympics by adding multiple Metro lines and extending existing ones. It has never been easier to navigate LA by train and bus. A TAP card is required and can be purchased and loaded with funds at any Metro train station in LA County. Metro train rides are $1.75 each with free transfers for two hours after each entry. The same TAP card can be used on the buses on which rides cost only $0.35 each. Bus and rail maps can be found HERE. LA Metro also has a handy app to track arrival times.
RENTAL CARS:
Prefer to rent a car to get around? Catch a shuttle to the LAX Rental Car Center upon landing at LAX. Be sure to book your car in advance HERE.
Flying into Burbank? Information on their on-site rental car center can be found HERE.

things to do
ENTERTAINMENT
Los Feliz is home to not one but TWO vintage movie houses both around one-hundred years old. Both the Los Feliz Three and The Vista are roughly two blocks from the wedding venue. At risk of closing during the pandemic, Quentin Tarantino purchased and restored the Vista Theater attaching a cute coffee shop Pam's Coffy to the side.
Pam's is definitely worth checking out for a cup of coffee and a taste of Hollywood. The single screen theater has great concessions and lots of leg room. The Los Feliz Three is a three screen theater with a smaller, more intimate vibe (you might recognize a first kiss from Netflix’s “Nobody Want This” outside the theater!) The largest screen projects films for the beloved American Cinematheque series - an incredible nonprofit that programs movies new and old often with guest speakers. Tickets for an American Cinematheque screening are sold separately than the other films screened at the Los Feliz Three and their calendar can be found HERE.
Also nearby is the famous Egyptian Theater on Hollywood Boulevard. The Egyptian is one of American Cinematheque's main theaters and their calendar is available HERE.
Upright Citizens Brigade offers affordable and hilarious improv at their Franklin Square theater. Tickets available HERE.
RETAIL
Amoeba Music is a place we lovingly refer to as our Disneyland. It is also known to us at the money vacuum. This warehouse record store has everything you could ever imagine in the realm of physical media. We frequent their DVD section and always peruse their records. They have great t-shirts and gifts too.
Skylight Books is an independent bookstore right in the neighborhood with a wide selection of books and gifts, a very friendly staff, and they regularly host readings and signings.
WACKO is a gift shop where you may not find what you're looking for, but you will likely find something better. This store is FUN with an eclectic mix of gifts and a local art gallery in the rear that is free for all to enjoy.
FUNKO Hollywood actually does resemble Disneyland. We were never really FUNKO POP people until stepping foot into this huge store with entire sections dedicated to your favorite franchises (Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc.) and enormous displays that are great for photo ops. They also have build-your-own FUNKO POP kiosks.
SWEETS
Kettle Glazed is our favorite donut shop in a city with a surprisingly rich donut culture. Check out The Donut King if you're interested in LA's donut history.
Daily Donuts is right in the neighborhood with great breakfast sandwiches at a reasonable price and a very friendly staff. They've been known to give you extra if you go late in the day.
Donut Hut is open 24/7 and bakes the donuts late at night so that is when they are hot and fresh! This is a must for those staying in Burbank.
BESTIES Vegan Paradise has $1 oat-based ice cream on Mondays and excellent oat-based milkshakes any time!
Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream is a great spot for a scoop with non-dairy options too!
PARKS
Griffith Park is enormous and offers the best views of Los Angeles from all angles. The park is home to Griffith Observatory which boasts an expansive and free museum as well as ticketed planetarium shows. At night, look through their public refracting telescope or one of the telescopes local hobbyists set up on the lawn for public viewing. Here is also where Riley proposed to Tessa🥰. Their favorite spot in the park is the Cedar Grove, most easily accessible via a paved trail off of Commonwealth Avenue. You simply can't find nature like this in other major city centers. Watch out for coyotes and snakes! Trails Cafe on Fern Dell Drive is another great place to start exploring near trailheads that lead straight to the observatory. A hike (or short walk) through any part of the park is well worth your time. Far too large to explore in a day!
Barnsdall Art Park is a beautiful hilltop park right near the happy couple's home. The park and Hollyhock House were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright to be a private property, however the owner donated it all to the city and now Angelenos gather daily to lay out blankets and watch the sunset. This park is a favorite of actors Seth Rogan and Alison Brie. The park also features an art gallery, theater, and ticketed tours of the Hollyhock House. Big Little Lies fans may take interest in an iconic, deadly staircase from a pivotal scene shot here.
BARS/RESTAURANTS
The High Low is where Tessa and Riley met each other in May of 2022 featuring a pool table and covered side patio.
The Dresden is a swanky bar was famously featured in the movie Swingers and hosts live jazz music five nights a week (Wednesday through Sunday).
Hi Tops Los Feliz is a gay sports bar and our usual social haunt with an excellent draft beer selection and unbelievable nachos. In addition to sports, they screen Survivor every Wednesday night when the series is on and the place fills up early! Located directly beneath the wedding venue, this is the natural after-party location.
All Time is fantastic for brunch or dinner with expansive wine selection. In a rush? Stop by their street window for coffee or delicious pastries.
House of Pies has the best Pie in the world and great lunch spot as well. Open late!
Fred 62 makes excellent diner fare, it's almost always open, and has the best milkshake in LA. Our fav: Oreo + Peanut Butter.
Scum and Villainy is a must visit for Star Wars fans! Modeled after the Mos Eisley cantina, this independently owned bar offers a fun, nerdy experience with themed bar food and cocktails.
Ye Rustic Inn is a dive bar that's open late and offers an estensive menu of great bar food. The Los Feliz watering hole and the best chicken wings in town!
Tam O'Shanter is a Scottish pub and steakhouse with a cozy, old world atmosphere. Established in 1922, it is one of the oldest restaurants in LA.
Tabula Rasa is a local wine bar with a patio and delicious bar bites.
Little Dom's is an LA staple with excellent brunch and dinner. It is an apt location for celebrity sightings, and the blueberry ricotta pancakes are to die for! (Riley once spotted Brad Pitt and Spike Jonze here…)
Covell is an awesome wine bar with a friendly staff that will let you taste anything. They also have a killer mac 'n' cheese.
Homestate is great for affordable and reliably tasty Tex-Mex breakfast tacos.
CAFES
Alcove has ample patio seating with an awesome happy hour that runs from 2pm-7pm on weekdays. A full bar and great mango habanero wings along with baked goods and lattes for the earlier hours of the day.
Hollywood Coffee House is a serene little gem on the border of East Hollywood and Los Feliz. Reasonably priced too!
The Village is a wonderful, spacious cafe with an exceptional spread of baked goods and pastries as well as sandwiches on fresh-baked bread.

How did we get here?
In May of 2022, Tessa was living in Santa Monica while Riley just moved back to LA after the pandemic prompted him to leave the city two years prior. They met two weeks later at a bar during a mixer for a short film Tessa had written on which Riley was set to PA. Upon meeting at The High Low, all else faded into the background as they swapped pitches and gabbed about their favorite films and TV shows. Their mutual passion for storytelling facilitated an instant symbiosis. Within a week, they visited the Farmer's Market at the Grove for their first date. Riley left wondering if that was the last first date he would ever go on. Tessa left wondering (and hoping) if it was actually a date. Oh, the fun of modern dating!
Another week passed, and Riley's catalytic converter was stolen off of his car a few hours before he planned to drive to Santa Monica for their second rendezvous. Instead, and still unsure if it would be a date, Tessa took a chance and drove to Riley in Highland Park where they visited a bar in the rear of a barber shop. Tessa's doubts disappeared when the bartender asked which number date they were on and Riley promptly answered "second.”
From there, Riley moved to Baldwin Hills after finding a deal on an apartment, but mostly to be closer to Tessa. Over the course of the next two and a half years, they met each others' families and friends, and, eventually, they found the perfect apartment in their favorite LA neighborhood: Los Feliz (which fittingly translates to "the happy"). Now, they live with the newest addition to their household, Mushaboom, a two-year-old border collie mix who couldn't be happier himself. Tessa and Riley are thrilled to introduce their loved ones to the place they love and call home while celebrating their commitment to each other on October 10, 2027.
